On that day, Sinsegye (Shenzhen) Computer System Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sinsegye"), a portfolio company of Lenovo Venture Capital, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Lenovo Group's Southern Intelligent Manufacturing Base, becoming the first seed client of the "Bright Future Initiative". It is estimated that within the next year, the production value of Sinsegye' industrial intelligence products at Lenovo Group's Southern Intelligent Manufacturing Base will exceed 50 million RMB. Lenovo Venture Capital participated in the event alongside 11 other intelligent manufacturing-related portfolio companies including Gugao, Shiguang, Shenhuishi, Future Robotics, Simu, and Dunjia, collectively seeking business opportunities for collaboration.

"The" Bright Future Initiative" opens a new pattern of empowerment for Lenovo Group

In recent years, China's intelligent manufacturing sector has experienced rapid growth.  To empower manufacturing enterprises effectively, Lenovo Group established its Southern Intelligent Manufacturing Base, which commenced operations on May 6.  This highly intelligent manufacturing facility serves as Lenovo's global "mother factory" for smart manufacturing.  Customized production demands that traditionally take 10-20 days to fulfill can now be delivered within 1-2 days through the base's flexible and intelligent manufacturing system.  Additionally, the facility enables adaptive adjustments to production line configurations based on evolving workloads, ensuring optimal operational efficiency.

At the launch ceremony, Lenovo Venture Capital and Lenovo Group's Southern Smart Manufacturing Base jointly unveiled the "Bright Future Initiative" for flexible manufacturing.  This program leverages Lenovo Group's strengths as a supply chain leader, integrating the advanced manufacturing expertise, capabilities, and innovation from its "mother factory" to create a full-cycle service encompassing prototype development, validation, optimization, and mass production. By actively exploring the "Manufacturing as a Service" (MaaS) model, it aims to foster an industrial cluster for producing cutting-edge technology products.

"After the launch of the" Bright Light Initiative", Lenovo Venture Capital can empower manufacturing start-ups from a higher dimension and solve their pain points of weak early manufacturing capacity.

Through the "Bright Future Initiative", Lenovo Venture Capital serves as a bridge connecting portfolio companies with Lenovo Group's ecosystem. The initiative will facilitate collaboration between enterprises and professional production lines, along with engineering teams, while providing smart manufacturing technologies, process expertise, comprehensive technical support, and production line planning. Additionally, it integrates flexible production lines of various types and specifications from Lenovo Group's Southern Smart Manufacturing Base to design customized production solutions that meet diverse corporate needs.

In the implementation direction of intelligent manufacturing, the "Guangming Plan" enables enterprises to access advanced smart manufacturing technologies from Lenovo Group's Southern Intelligent Manufacturing Base, including IoT, AI, machine vision, programmable robotic arms, and digital twins. This helps companies enhance production efficiency and product quality through intelligent control, automated management, and real-time monitoring.  The innovative MaaS model also provides end-to-end empowerment solutions. Beyond production capacity, the "Guangming Plan" offers entrepreneurial enterprises various resource integration services to accelerate their full-chain development.

Help start-ups grow and effectively solve the pain points of manufacturing enterprises

On the day of the production launch ceremony, Sinsegye, a portfolio company of Lenovo Venture Capital, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Lenovo Group's Southern Intelligent Manufacturing Base as its first seed client.  Incubated by the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Sinsegye pioneered the new category of industrial AI machines. Focused on industrial automation and intelligent manufacturing based on PC technology and software-defined technologies, it aims to rival Germany's Beckhoff. However, due to limitations in standardized production processes for mass manufacturing and harsh operational environments requiring stringent long-term quality standards, the company previously had no plans for mass production.

Building on this foundation, the "Bright Plan" MaaS has established a comprehensive system for production manufacturing and quality control tailored for AI-powered devices. It simultaneously upgrades production processes through digital transformation, offering full-service solutions that ensure product quality and after-sales support. The program also establishes integrated material processing workflows for new product launches.  Currently, Lenovo Group's Southern Intelligent Manufacturing Base is scheduled to begin mass production of its CH20X series, SX2 series, SX5 series, and SP series AI-powered devices by mid-year, with an estimated annual output value reaching 50 million RMB.

"The successful implementation of the" Bright Future Initiative "at Sinsegye demonstrates replicable best practices, marking a new chapter in collaborative success between Lenovo Group and its ecosystem partners.  Through enhanced collaboration, Lenovo Ventures '" Technology Watch Tower" has strengthened the two-way empowerment relationship between Lenovo's ecosystem and its portfolio companies. This strategic shift toward service-oriented transformation has significantly boosted manufacturing enterprises' profitability while achieving multi-stakeholder win-win outcomes.

Lin Lin, Vice President of Lenovo Group and partner at Lenovo Ventures, stated that as a leading CVC in China's innovative technology investment sector, Lenovo Ventures not only provides financial support to tech enterprises but also leverages Lenovo Group's extensive global resources to facilitate startup growth through supply chain optimization, talent development, market expansion, and service enhancement. The "Bright Future Initiative" serves as a pivotal component of this ecosystem.  This program helps startups overcome early-stage manufacturing challenges by accelerating production line deployment and enabling efficient transition from lab-to-market, allowing companies to focus exclusively on core technologies and innovative ventures.  Simultaneously, the initiative fosters a two-way empowerment dynamic: outstanding core technologies and innovative concepts from invested enterprises can be channeled into Lenovo Group's Southern Smart Manufacturing Base, collectively driving the transformation and upgrading of China's manufacturing industry through ecosystem synergy.

Huang Zhongzhao, Vice President of Global Manufacturing and Engineering at Lenovo Group, stated that the company currently operates 10 self-owned production bases worldwide. It is actively exploring win-win cooperation models with Lenovo Venture Capital's portfolio companies to enhance market competitiveness and achieve sustainable development.  The large-scale launch of Lenovo's Southern Intelligent Manufacturing Base aims to empower customers through its "Smart" manufacturing approach, providing comprehensive support in supply chain management, technical support, and services. The company also hopes to attract more enterprises to participate in sharing Lenovo's global resources for mutual benefit.

As the economic focus shifts back to physical manufacturing, "smart manufacturing" will remain a key investment direction for Lenovo Venture Capital and a primary goal of CVC2.0's two-way empowerment strategy.  At the production launch ceremony, 11 invested companies from Lenovo Venture Capital participated as representatives of smart manufacturing, witnessing the continuous expansion of its smart manufacturing ecosystem.  Moving forward, Lenovo Venture Capital will leverage the "Bright Future Initiative" to deepen two-way empowerment between manufacturing enterprises and Lenovo Group through multiple dimensions including project discovery, post-investment management, ecosystem empowerment, and MaaS integration, continuously driving high-speed growth for smart manufacturing companies.
